Les Feldick Bible Study

Why should we mark off people who set dates for the Lord's coming as false?

Such date-setters should be marked false because the church age has no prophetic utterance or revealed time frame for Christ's return for the church. Scripture gives nothing to help set a date. Only after the church age ends and the seven-year tribulation begins does prophecy resume with a measurable time frame.

Les explains that during the church age there is no prophetic utterance connected with it, and that should always be remembered. So when people claim that on a certain day the Lord is coming, they should be marked off as false from day one. The reason is that there is nothing in Scripture that can help set a date for the return of Christ for the church. Once the church age is done and that undetermined period of time has ended, the seven years of tribulation begin. At that point, Les says, we are back in prophecy and back in a time frame, with seven years elapsing in prophecy. But for the church age, there is nothing like that.
