How does the resurrected body process food?

The resurrected body is capable of ingesting food. In the account, after showing his physical scars, he asked for food and ate broiled fish and honeycomb. Its chemistry will be totally different: food will be totally consumed rather than only a small percentage, with no need for sanitation. Eating will be a pleasure without weight, diabetic, or blood-pressure problems.

Les teaches that the resurrected body is capable of ingesting food, but the glory of it is that there will be no need for sanitation. He explains that its chemistry will be totally different than anything we know: food will be totally consumed instead of only a small percentage. He points to the resurrected one asking, “Have you any food?” and then eating the broiled fish and honeycomb rather than saying he did not need it. When believers enter glory with new resurrected bodies, Les says eating will be one of the pleasures this world knows nothing of—no weight problem, no diabetic problem, no high blood pressure problem. He connects this to Revelation 22, where the fruit of the tree of life grows on both sides of the river and provides fruit twelve months of the year to be eaten.
