How can we understand what our resurrected body will be like?
We understand by studying the forty days of Christ's life after His resurrection. Believers will be changed at the last trump and receive a new body like His resurrected body—able to move swiftly, pass through walls, eat fish, and suddenly disappear.
Les teaches that this is the mystery Paul gives to Gentile believers: we shall not all sleep, or die physically, but we shall all be changed. Whether we have died or remain alive, we will have a resurrected body, a new body like His resurrected body. Les always tells his classes that if you want an inkling of what our new body will be like, study those forty days of Christ's life after His resurrection. The body could go from here to there at the speed of light, go through a wall without a door, suddenly have fish frying on the seashore, eat of it, and then suddenly be gone. In verse 52, the word 'moment' in the Greek is not a sixty-second minute but the smallest divisible portion of time, so it will be a fraction of a second, in the twinkling or blink of an eye. We shall all be changed at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead believers in Christ shall be raised incorruptible. We are going to be alive when this happens. This is the doctrine of the Rapture, or the outcalling of the believer, which has always been an imminent event; even in Paul's day believers were told to be prepared for the Lord's suddenly coming, and so it is today.
