How will eating and digestion work in the resurrected body?
The resurrected body will be capable of ingesting food, and eating will be one of its pleasures. Digestion will operate by a totally different chemistry: food will be totally consumed rather than only a small percentage, with no need for sanitation and no concerns like weight, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
Les teaches that the resurrected body is capable of ingesting food. After His resurrection, Jesus asked for food, was given broiled fish and honeycomb, and He ate it rather than saying He did not need it. In the new estate, believers will have resurrected bodies and will enjoy pleasures this world knows nothing of, including eating without weight problems, diabetic problems, or high blood pressure problems. Revelation 22 says the fruit of the tree of life grows on both sides of the river and provides fruit twelve months of the year, and it is for eating. The glory of the resurrected body is that there will be no need for sanitation; its chemistry is totally different, so food is totally consumed instead of only a small percentage.
