Les Feldick Bible Study

Will we need to eat food in our resurrected bodies?

No. Food and stomach belong to this temporal existence, and Scripture says God will destroy both. In the resurrected body, eating will not be a daily necessity; the body will not demand three meals a day. It may still be a pleasure, as when the Lord ate fish and bread at the Sea of Galilee.

Les teaches that 1 Corinthians 6:13 speaks of meat for the belly and the belly for meat, but God shall destroy both it and them. These are part of our temporal existence, where we cannot go a day without food and the stomach rumbles with hunger. But the day is coming when that will not be true. When we receive our new resurrected body, we will not have to eat three meals a day, and the body will not demand food day after day. Les suggests that for those who love to eat, the Lord may still give the pleasure of eating, pointing to the Lord eating fish and bread at the Sea of Galilee. Eating will not be a necessity then.

1 Corinthians 6:13

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
