What did God promise Jacob in Genesis 28:15?

God promised to be with Jacob, to keep him in all places wherever he went, to bring him again into the land of Canaan, and not to leave him until He had done that which He had spoken to him. This assured divine presence, protection, and return.

Les explains that Genesis 28:15 follows the promise that Jacob's seed would be as the dust of the earth and that all families of the earth would be blessed through the promised Messiah, the Christ. In verse 15 God promises Jacob His abiding presence, to keep him in every place he goes, to bring him back into Canaan, and never to leave him until He has fulfilled what He spoke. Jacob then awakes afraid, calls the place Bethel, meaning the house of Elohim, and later names another place El Bethel after meeting the God of the house of God.

Genesis 28:15

And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
