Les Feldick Bible Study

Did God create everything after its own kind, and can creatures change kinds?

Yes. Scripture states God created plant, bird, marine, and animal life after His kind, repeating "after His kind" for emphasis. The context affirms everything was created within its own kind, and nothing has ever been able to break away from that fact, so creatures cannot change kinds.

Les explains that in the creation account God repeatedly says living creatures came forth "after His kind"—cattle, creeping things, and beasts of the earth. He points out that when the Bible repeats something often within a short period, it is there for emphasis, and God wants us to take note. Les teaches that whether plant life, bird life, marine life, or animal life, everything was created within its own kind, and nothing has ever been able to break away from that one fact.

Genesis 1:24

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

Genesis 1:22

And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
