Did God create everything for His pleasure rather than by chance or evolution?
Scripture teaches that God created all things, and everything was created by the Creator for His pleasure. Creation did not simply happen or evolve; it exists because the Creator made it. The living creatures and elders worship Him as worthy because He created all things for His pleasure.
In this passage, the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to Him who sits on the throne and lives forever. The four and twenty elders fall down and worship, cast their crowns before the throne, and say He is worthy to receive glory, honor, and power because He created all things. Les explains that this means He created everything—it did not just happen or evolve—but everything was created by the Creator, and for His pleasure they are and were created. Les also notes that it is the twenty-four elders, not necessarily believers, who are shown casting crowns, and that this verse is often taken out of context.
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
