What order did God create animals and man?
In creation, the order given is creeping things first, then four-footed beasts, then birds, and finally man. Man was the last one created, on Friday, the sixth day. The animals were made before him, making man the final created being in that sequence.
Les explains that the chronology in the passage is reversed from creation. In creation, the creeping things came first, then the four-footed beasts, then the birds, and man was last—created on Friday, the sixth day. But in the making of images, the order runs the other way: they begin with an image of man, then move to birds, four-footed beasts, and reptiles, the lowest creatures. Les illustrates this with Israel in Egypt, where frogs, flies, and the Nile were treated as gods, and God's plagues showed those gods were nothing. He also connects the same idolatrous tendency to the New Age movement's move toward Oriental idol worship.
