How does the Old Adam attack believers?

The Old Adam attacks believers by popping thoughts into their minds, catching them in moments of weakness, and constantly confronting them to follow the Old Adamic nature. Although God reckons the Old Adam dead, in experience he remains, causing more daily difficulty than Satanic attacks, while the new nature energized by the Holy Spirit opposes him.

Les explains that Paul’s whole thrust of teaching is that believers now have two forces working within them. On the road to Damascus, when Saul recognized he was dealing with the Ascended Jesus of Nazareth, Saul died—he was crucified in the Old Adam—and immediately became a new man, a new creation. God reckons Old Adam is absolutely dead, but in experience he is still there. Les says he does not mind the attacks of Satan half as much as the attacks of his Old Adam. As you go through a week of life, most of your difficulty is not Satanic as much as Old Adam. Old Adam pops these thoughts into our mind, catches us in moments of weakness, and constantly confronts us to still go the direction of the Old Adamic nature. Opposite that, we have the new nature energized by the Holy Spirit. Les adds, do not take away from Satan’s power, but it is our Old Adam that just constantly confronts us.

Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
