Les Feldick Bible Study

Why can we be certain that we will one day experience the things God has prepared for those who love Him?

We can be certain because the promise comes from God, who cannot lie. Scripture declares that eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered man’s heart what God has prepared for those who love Him. Since God’s Word is trustworthy, the day is coming when believers will experience those prepared things.

Les teaches that this certainty rests on the promise written in 1 Corinthians 2:9 and on the fact that God cannot lie. Because God’s Word is true, believers can rest on it, knowing the day is coming when they will experience the things God has prepared for those who love Him. Les also points to II Corinthians 12, where Paul seems to be bursting to tell what he saw and heard. Paul would have liked to share at least some of it, but he could not, because people would begin to worship him. In II Corinthians 12:6 Paul says he forbears, lest any man should think of him above what he is.

1 Corinthians 2:9

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

More Questions

Are the things God has prepared for those who love Him already prepared or future?

The things God has prepared for those who love Him are already prepared — not something He will do someday — and they are so great that we cannot even begin to comprehend them or bring them into the thoughts of man.
