Why can we be assured that nothing can separate us from spending eternity with God?

Paul writes that he is persuaded, totally convinced, that in the end we are more than conquerors through the One who loved us. This assurance does not rest on fleshly energy, which can do nothing, so nothing can separate us from spending eternity with our Creator God.

Les explains that this book looks at everything in the light of eternity, so we take the blessed assurance that regardless of what may happen, nothing can separate us from spending eternity with our Creator God. He ties this to being led like sheep to the slaughter, yet being conquerors: we need not mind being meek, quiet, or persecuted, because in the end we are still more than conquerors through the One who loved us. Paul says he is persuaded, meaning totally convinced, and Les notes that we and the energy of the flesh can do nothing. The assurance rests in the One who loved us, not in ourselves.
