What did Adam and Eve do after they sinned in the garden, and who found them?

After sinning, Adam and Eve sewed fig leaves, then hid when they heard the Lord God in the garden toward evening. They did not run to meet Him; God had to find them. This illustrates that mankind will not seek God by his own volition; God must make the first move.

Les explains that after Adam and Eve sinned, they sewed fig leaves, which may have been all right for a few hours. Then toward evening they heard the Lord God in the garden. Instead of running to meet Him and saying, Lord, You are the one we are looking for, they hid. God had to find them. Les says this has never changed: mankind will never, of his own volition, go looking for God; it is contrary to our makeup, and God has to make the first move. Les also clarifies this does not mean God has already picked out who He will save and who He will not, because the work of the cross was sufficient for everybody.
