How did Israel get out of slavery at the Red Sea?
Israel could not escape slavery by its own strength; God exerted His power on their behalf at the Red Sea. They moved out of that slave experience only by divine power, walking through by faith while God accomplished what they themselves could do—nothing.
Les takes us back to the shores of the Red Sea, explaining that Israel could not move out of that slave experience except for the power of God. They were going to walk through by faith, but God exerted His power while they could do nothing. Les applies this to us: that is where we are, and we must come to the place where we recognize our hopelessness.
