How did the Israelites cross the Red Sea so quickly?
God miraculously enabled the Israelites to cross the Red Sea by moving the whole multitude faster than a normal three-mile-an-hour walk and by opening the sea an amazing distance, allowing them to walk on dry land with waters as a wall on their right and left.
Les explains that the movie The Ten Commandments inaccurately shows a narrow channel, because three to seven million people with all their livestock and herds could never have gone through such a narrow passage. He is convinced God not only moved this whole multitude miraculously faster than a three-mile-an-hour walk, but also opened the Red Sea an amazing amount of distance. He had to do so for that large a multitude to go through within such a short period of time. Scripture states the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea, with the waters as a wall on their right and on their left. Les says whatever how He did it, how much He did it, we know He did it, Scripture says so, and it pictures our own salvation—the burial of Christ, with coming out on the other side as resurrection.
