Why did Satan begin working against mankind right after Genesis 3:15?

Satan began working against mankind because he understood God's Genesis 3:15 promise—that the woman's seed would bruise the serpent's head—meant a Redeemer was coming. He therefore launched opposition to prevent that Redeemer from coming to the human race.

Les teaches that immediately after God made the classic statement in Genesis 3:15 to Satan—that the seed of the woman would bruise the head of the serpent—Satan knew what God meant. It was the coming of a Redeemer. So Satan kicked into gear everything he could to prohibit the coming of a Redeemer for the human race. This background shows why this man was under such constant satanic attack, and Les notes that such attack is nothing new.

Genesis 3:15

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
