Why did Satan start working against God's plan right after God promised Abraham a Redeemer?
As soon as God announced that through Abraham’s separated people the Redeemer of the whole human race would come, Satan went into high gear to thwart God’s program. He fought God’s dealings with Israel, seeking to eliminate the Jews, because if Israel were destroyed, God’s prophecies resting on Israel could not be fulfilled.
Les teaches that just as soon as God announced to Abraham that through this man He would bring out a separated people and deal with them, and that through this people would come a Redeemer of the whole human race, Satan immediately put everything in high gear to thwart the program of God. History shows Satan constantly fought God’s dealing with the nation of Israel—their unbelief, attacks from the Gentile world, and everything else that came about. Even today, Les says, the whole world votes against the little nation of Israel and tries to push them tighter into a smaller area of Jerusalem. That is the Satanic ploy to get rid of the nation of Israel. If Satan can succeed in getting rid of the Jew and the nation of Israel, then God cannot perform His prophecies, because all the prophecies rest on Israel.
