When did Satan start working to thwart God's program?
Satan began working to thwart God's program immediately after God announced to Abraham that He would bring out a separated people through whom a Redeemer for the whole human race would come. At that announcement, Satan put everything in high gear to oppose God's dealings, and he has continually fought against Israel and God's purposes.
Les explains that as soon as God announced to Abraham that through this man He was going to bring out a separated people, and that through this people would come a Redeemer of the whole human race, Satan immediately puts everything in high gear to thwart the program of God. Les points out that all you have to do is look back at history and see how Satan has constantly fought God's dealing with the nation of Israel. Everything in Israel's unbelief, attacks from the Gentile world, and even today's worldwide pressure against the little nation of Israel, trying to push them into a smaller area of Jerusalem, is the Satanic ploy to get rid of the nation of Israel. If Satan can succeed in getting rid of the Jew and the nation of Israel, then God cannot perform His prophecies, because all the prophecies rest on Israel.
