Where does a believer's soul and spirit go immediately at death?

At physical death, a believer's soul and spirit separate from the body and go immediately into paradise in heaven, directly into the presence of the Lord. The body is left void of soul and spirit until resurrection, but the believer's soul and spirit are already in glory.

Les teaches from 2 Corinthians 5:6 and 5:8 that while a believer is at home in the body, he is absent from the Lord, but to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. So at physical death, the believer's soul and spirit are separated from the body and immediately go into paradise in heaven, immediately into the Lord's presence—only soul and spirit. The body remains void of soul and spirit until resurrection, while the soul and spirit are already in glory.

2 Corinthians 5:8

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
