Les Feldick Bible Study

What kind of body do we get in the resurrection—flesh and blood or something else?

Scripture teaches that the resurrection body is not flesh and blood. The corruptible must put on incorruption, and the mortal must put on immortality. This change happens in a moment, at the last trump. The believer’s body becomes flesh and bone, activated by the Spirit, raised incorruptible rather than corruptible.

Les explains that this resurrection event takes place in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible. What was sown in corruption will be raised in incorruption. Those who are alive and remain will not simply die and be resurrected, but they shall be changed. This corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal body, prone to death, must put on immortality. It must lose the flesh and blood concept and become flesh and bone, activated by the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:53

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
