What kind of bodies will we have in the resurrection?
We will have new, resurrected, immortal, heavenly, eternal bodies. They will not look weird or bizarre but will appear normal and human, just as the Lord Jesus did during the forty days after His resurrection. Though outwardly ordinary, these bodies are immortal and not tied to this old earth.
Les explains that after His resurrection, Jesus had all the outward appearances of another human being, yet He was now immortal. Mary thought He was a gardener; the disciples did not immediately recognize Him; He cooked fish and ate with them. So we will not look weird or like something from a Hollywood concoction. Instead, we will look just as normal from all human outward appearances as the Lord Jesus did in those forty days from His resurrection until His ascension. But our new bodies will be resurrected, immortal, heavenly, and eternal. Like His, they will not be tied to this old earth, and we will no longer be simple monuments of clay.
