Will we be flesh and blood in eternity?
Scripture indicates believers will not enter eternity as flesh and blood. Instead, they will be raised in a spiritual body—flesh and bone—with the Spirit as their life source. The natural body is sown in death and raised in resurrection power, retaining outward features but possessing eternal life rather than the temporal three score and ten.
Les teaches that if Peter, James, and John recognized Moses and Elijah, then we will recognize our loved ones and know everyone by name, having full knowledge. When this old body is buried—if we do not live to see the rapture—believers have the blessed hope that it will be raised a new life. The whole concept of resurrection is that the body of flesh has to die and then be raised in resurrection power. As Paul writes, it is sown a natural body, born of the flesh, but raised a spiritual body. Les explains we are not going into eternity in flesh and blood but in flesh and bone, with our life source being the Spirit. Paul says there is a natural body and a spiritual body; though eons apart, they are alike because we retain all outward features and become spiritual by having eternal life instead of the promised three score and ten. Verse 45 speaks of the first man Adam, who was made a living soul, and the last Adam, the second Adam.
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
