Do we go into eternity in flesh and blood or flesh and bone?
Believers do not enter eternity in flesh and blood; they enter in flesh and bone. The natural body of flesh must die and be raised a spiritual body, with the Spirit as its life source. They retain outward features but now have eternal life rather than the promised threescore and ten.
Les teaches that the believer’s body of flesh is sown natural and must die, then be raised in resurrection power as a spiritual body. He contrasts flesh and blood with flesh and bone: we are not going into eternity in flesh and blood but in flesh and bone, with the Spirit as our life source. Paul says there is a natural body and a spiritual body; though they are eons apart, they are alike because we will still have the outward features we have now, yet we now have eternal life instead of the promised three score and ten. The whole concept of resurrection is that the old body is buried and raised to new life for the believer.
