Do we have the Holy Spirit now the same way we will in eternity?
No. Believers are presently indwelt by the Holy Spirit, but not to the degree that will characterize the eternal state. In this physical existence life is in the blood; when flesh and bone enter eternity, the Spirit will take over that life-giving role.
Les explains that even now believers are indwelt by the presence of the Holy Spirit, but not to the degree He will be in the eternal state. In this physical life, life is in the blood; when we come into the eternal state of flesh and bone, the Spirit will actually take over the role the blood now has. Thus, eternal life will be in the Spirit, not the blood, as taught in 1 Corinthians 15.
