Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens to the planet when Christ returns?

At Christ’s return, He crushes the residue of the Gentile empires and the Antichrist’s armies at Armageddon, totally destroying the planet so every city falls. The residue is blown away like chaff. Then the returning Christ becomes a great mountain filling the whole earth, establishing His Kingdom.

Les explains that after Christ returns, He first crushes the residue of all the Gentile empires and the armies of the Antichrist in Armageddon, and He totally destroys the planet. Les suggests every city on the planet will fall in a matter of hours. The iron, clay, brass, silver, and gold are broken to pieces together and become like the chaff of the summer threshing floor. As chaff is light and the wind blows it away, so the residue of these Gentile empires will be blown away at the Second Coming and disappear. Then the stone that smote the image—the returning Christ—becomes a great mountain and fills the whole earth, meaning He sets up His Kingdom. Les notes that before He brings in the Jewish resurrected believers and fulfills Israel’s Old Testament promises, these 75 days will be used to get everything ready for the coming Kingdom economy and to cleanse the earth of all the residue, and it will be beautiful.

Daniel 2:35

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
