What happens when Christ returns after the tribulation?
After the seven-year tribulation, Christ returns in His Second Coming. He comes to the Mount of Olives, where His feet will stand, as Zechariah foretold, and He establishes a glorious earthly kingdom. He will rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords over that kingdom on earth.
Les explains that after the seven years of the tribulation, which he divides into three and a half and three and a half, Christ returns at His Second Coming. He comes to the Mount of Olives, and His feet will stand there according to Zechariah. He then sets up a glorious Kingdom on earth. Les notes that all the Old Testament speaks of this Kingdom as on the earth, and he cites Zechariah 14, Daniel 2, Isaiah 11, and others. Over that earthly Kingdom, Christ will rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and He reigns during the thousand years.
And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
