What does Philippians 3:21 say Jesus will do with our vile body?
Philippians 3:21 says He shall change our vile, corrupt, prone-to-death body, fashioning it like unto His glorious body—the same supernatural body He walked in for forty days after His resurrection, no longer limited by time and space, when this corruptible puts on incorruption.
Les explains that the believer’s resurrection/change happens in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump—not the trumpets of Revelation. At that last trump the dead believer is raised incorruptible, and those alive are changed. Turning to Philippians 3, Les qualifies this: the Savior shall change our vile, corrupt, prone-to-death body so it is fashioned like His glorious body. That is the body He walked in for forty days after His resurrection, supernatural and not limited by time and space; He could pass through walls and the ceiling. Les says this is not gobbledygook but Scriptural fact. We are now limited to this planet’s physical aspects, but in the Eternal it is a whole new ball game. Thus we will have a body like His glorious resurrected body, and 1 Corinthians 15 says this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal put on immortality. This is the believer’s blessed hope, the soon appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
