What is our present body like according to Philippians 3?

Philippians 3 calls the present body vile: it is this one that is prone to sin, death, and disease. Our citizenship is in Heaven, and we await the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change this vile body and fashion it like unto His glorious body.

Les points to Philippians chapter 3, verses 20-21, and emphasizes how simple and plain the resurrection teaching is. He explains that our conversation, or citizenship, is in Heaven, and Colossians says we have already been translated into the Kingdom of Heaven. From that same Heaven where the Lord is now waiting, we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He shall change our vile body—this one that is prone to sin and death and disease—so that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself. Les also connects this hope to Abraham, who believed God would resurrect Isaac if necessary, and says the 40 days after Christ’s resurrection and before His ascension from the Mount of Olives are worth studying.

Philippians 3:21

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
