What was the only thing Adam and Eve had to concern themselves with in the Garden?

In the Garden, Adam and Eve had only one prohibition to concern themselves with: they were not to eat of that tree. Everything else was there for them to enjoy, and nothing else was disobedient. They knew nothing of sin, yet they were commanded not to eat of the tree.

Les explains that while Adam and Eve were in the Garden, they were under a specific set of circumstances. Their only concern was the command, “Don’t eat of that tree.” That was it. Everything else was there for them to enjoy, and nothing else would have been disobedient. They knew nothing of sin, but they were not to eat of the tree. Les then points out what happened: they disobeyed and ate. When they came out of the Garden, everything was no longer the same. Sin had entered, death had entered, and they were separated from that daily walk with God. They came under the curse and had to work by the sweat of the brow, no longer living in the easy existence of paradise and Eden. Les stresses that God did not change; Adam and Eve did. He connects this to later changes, such as after the Flood and at Babel, showing different circumstances and administrations while the same God remains.
