Would a believer filled with the Holy Spirit ever call Jesus accursed?
No. Paul says in I Corinthians 12 that no believer who is under the Holy Spirit's control would ever call Jesus a curse because He was crucified. Such cursing came from Jewish unbelievers in their unbelief, not from the Spirit's power.
Les explains that Paul was reflecting on his own pre-salvation experience when he told Israel that Jesus of Nazareth was a curse because He was hanged on the cross. Now in I Corinthians 12 Paul makes it plain that no man who is a believer and under the Holy Spirit's control would ever call Jesus a curse simply because He had been crucified. The Jews who called Jesus a curse leaned on Deuteronomy and on what Judas had done, but they did so in unbelief, not in the power of the Holy Spirit. Les notes that this verse once bugged him—how could anyone accuse Jesus of being a curse? The other side of the coin is that no unbeliever can truly say Jesus is Lord; Christ cannot be Lord and Master of an unbelieving person.
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
