What does the bread on the Lord's Table represent about believers as the body of Christ?

The bread represents believers as many individual members brought together into one body. As numerous kernels of wheat are ground into flour and baked into a single loaf, so believers, though many, are one bread, a composite of individual members sharing the fellowship of the body of Christ.

Les explains that the bread on the Lord’s Table speaks of the same truth as the body of Christ. Just as a loaf of bread is made from many kernels of wheat that are ground into flour and then made into bread, believers are like that loaf: a composite of all those individual kernels of grain. Though many, we are one bread. The context also notes that Christ is the head in heaven, every born-again believer is a member of that body, and we are all members of each other. Thus the bread pictures the fellowship of the body of Christ, where many individual members are made into one loaf.

1 Corinthians 10:17

For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
