What does the bread in the Lord's Table represent?

The bread represents the body of Christ, the fellowship of His body, composed of many individual believers unified as one loaf. Just as a loaf is made from many wheat kernels ground into flour, believers are many members yet one bread in Christ. This pictures the unity of Christ's body.

Les explains that the bread speaks of much the same thing as the body of Christ. He points out that bread comes from wheat, and a bin of wheat or grain is comprised of individual kernels. A loaf of bread is made of umpteen kernels of wheat ground into flour and then made into bread. The analogy holds: believers as members of the body of Christ are like that loaf, a composite of all those individual kernels of grain. Thus, the bread which we break is the fellowship of the body of Christ, and we being many are one bread. Even though the loaf comes from several thousand kernels of wheat, in the final makeup it is one loaf.

1 Corinthians 10:16

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
