How are Christ and the body of believers united?

Christ and the body of believers are united as a husband and wife become one. They are totally integrated, becoming one. Believers are in Christ, and Christ is in them through the Holy Spirit, making them the temple or dwelling place of God.

Les explains that just as a husband and wife come together and become one, so Christ and this body of believers become one—totally integrated. Not only are we in Christ, but He is in us. The world knows nothing of this, but for those who love and know the Word, it is plain, believable, practical, and experiential. Because Christ is bodily at the Father's right hand and cannot leave that bodily, His indwelling is by the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 3:16 says believers are the temple or dwelling place of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in them. Les emphasizes that repeated Scripture in short order is emphasis.
