Les Feldick Bible Study

How can many believers be one body, according to the bread of the Lord's Table?

Many believers are one body because, just as many individual wheat kernels are ground into flour and baked into a single loaf, believers are made a composite of individual members in the body of Christ. Being many, they are one bread, sharing the fellowship of the body of Christ.

Les explains that the bread speaks of the same kind of truth as the body of Christ. A bin full of wheat or grain is comprised of individual kernels, and a loaf of bread is made from many kernels of wheat ground into flour. In the same way, believers as members of the body of Christ are like that loaf, a composite of all those individual kernels of grain. So, although many, they are one bread; the bread which is broken is the fellowship of the body of Christ. Even though the loaf comes from several thousand kernels of wheat, in its final makeup it is one loaf.

1 Corinthians 10:17

For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
