Can you leave God behind when you go somewhere ungodly?
No. Every believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit the moment they believe, and you take Him wherever you go. You cannot check Him at the door or leave Him behind. Since the body is the temple of the indwelling Holy Spirit, be careful where you go.
Les teaches that every believer the moment he believes, the Spirit comes and indwells. He usually tells young people that when they go to some ungodly place, they are not going to check God at the door; they take Him wherever they go. You cannot check Him where you think it isn't fit for Him to be, so you better be careful of where you go, because this body is the temple of the indwelling Holy Spirit. He points to the plain language that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. He explains that the third person of the Trinity comes and indwells the believer, so God knows every thought, every place we go, and everything we do because He is here. He compares this to Solomon's temple, where the presence of God in the Shekinah glory came down, as a foreview of this age of grace, when the Holy Spirit comes into us.
