What will scoffers say in the last days about the promise of Christ's coming?
In the last days, scoffers will ask, "Where is the promise of His coming?" They will note that since the fathers fell asleep, these things have been talked about, and they claim nothing has ever happened. Scripture says such scoffing fulfills what was written.
Les explains that when someone argued people had talked about Christ's return for years and nothing ever happened, he took him back to Peter and said he was fulfilling exactly what Scripture had said. The scoffers will come in the last days asking, "Where is the promise of His coming?" and noting that since the fathers fell asleep, these things have been talked about. Les grants that these things have been talked about, but not on the scale seen today. He points to exploding technology, electronics, and communication as things that scream that the Lord is coming, that this age of grace is closer to its end, and that Christ is going to return. Whether the world scoffs or not is beside the point; He is coming soon, so we should be looking up and be ready.
