What will happen to believers when Jesus comes?

When Jesus appears, believers will be like Him, for they shall see Him as He is. They are already children of God now, but what they shall be has not yet appeared; at His coming they will be made like Christ.

Les explains that verse 2 says believers are now the children of God, but it does not yet appear what they shall be. The world does not know them because it did not know the Lord Jesus. Les teaches that when He shall appear—and He is coming—believers shall be like Him, for they shall see Him as He is. He contrasts this with the world's expectation that it will keep going forever and that the United Nations will solve all problems. Les says there will be no peace on earth until the Prince of Peace comes; praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the Lord's coming. The certain hope is that at His appearing, believers will be like Christ and see Him as He is.

1 John 3:2

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
