What happens to believers when Jesus returns?
When Jesus returns, believers will be like Him, for they shall see Him as He is. They are already children of God now, but what they will be has not yet appeared; at His appearing, they will be made like Him.
Les teaches that believers are now the sons or children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be. But this much we know: when the Lord Jesus Christ shall appear—and He is coming—we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Les contrasts this with the world's thinking that it will keep going forever and that the United Nations will solve all problems. He says there will be no peace on earth until the Prince of Peace comes back to Jerusalem. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is really praying for the Lord's coming, as John does in Revelation. The one thing we know is that when He comes, we shall be like Him.
