Why is Bible prophecy easier to believe today than in the past?
Present-day technology, especially satellite technology, makes Bible prophecy more believable now. Before such technology, it was difficult to accept that the whole world could witness two witnesses rising from Jerusalem. Today, global live viewing is plausible, so prophecies like Revelation's two witnesses are easier to believe.
Les teaches that all Old Testament prophecy was given to Israel, not the church, and that God's promises to Israel will still happen. He notes that as we live in this age, we can see prophecy getting closer and closer. He tells his classes almost every night that all this prophecy would still be hard to believe if it weren't for present-day technology. With satellite technology, Revelation's scene of the two witnesses dead on Jerusalem's streets becomes believable: after three days they rise from the dead and ascend in a rapturous-like experience, and the whole world will see them go. Before satellite technology, that global viewing was tough to accept, but now it is plausible.
