Why is it easier today to embrace the pre-tribulation/pre-millennial teaching?
Because current world events visibly align the prophetic plan, making the pre-tribulation and pre-millennial coming of Christ easier to accept today. Since John Darby, thousands of theologians have recovered and promoted this teaching, so it is far easier to embrace than the view that God is finished with the Jew.
Les teaches that after the Reformation there was nothing taught concerning the end time. From Joseph Meade onward, more men began to recover Millennialistic teaching, including Israel going back to the land and a thousand-year reign on earth. In the middle 1800s John Darby became a tremendous proponent of the pre-tribulation and pre-millennial coming of Christ. Since Darby, thousands of theologians have followed. Les says that with everything happening on earth and the whole prophetic plan coming together, it is much easier now to embrace these things than to say God is all through with the Jew. He also notes there are large groups in Christendom.
