Why is prophecy hard to believe without today's technology?

Prophecy was hard to believe before modern technology because predictions such as the whole world seeing the two witnesses rise from Jerusalem seemed impossible to fulfill. Without satellite technology, global viewing of such an event was a tough concept to accept, but present-day technology makes it believable.

Les explains that all Old Testament prophecy was given to Israel, not the church, and that everything God promised to the nation of Israel will still happen. He notes that as we live in this age, it is getting closer and closer. He tells his classes that all this prophecy would still be hard to believe if it weren't for our present day technology. For example, Revelation speaks of the two witnesses dead on the streets of Jerusalem, then after three days they rise from the dead and go up in a rapturous-like experience, and the whole world will see them go. Until satellite technology, that was a tough one to buy—the whole world seeing two men go up from Jerusalem. Today's technology makes it believable.
