Why is the book of Revelation easier to understand now than it was twenty years ago?
The book is easier because we are now close to the end time, the time Daniel said the words were sealed until. Current events and news now align with prophecy, so Revelation becomes simple to understand, unlike twenty years ago when people struggled.
Les teaches that God told Daniel the words were closed and sealed until the time of the end, so men were not to understand prophecy until we got close to the end time. He notes that it was not until the late 1800s and the turn of the century that men began to comprehend prophecy. Now, he says, every week it is much easier to understand. Twenty years ago, when he taught Revelation, it was hard to get people to understand; now people almost run ahead of him with current events and news, and Revelation is as simple as ABC. He illustrates with the two witnesses whose dead bodies are left in Jerusalem and all the world sees them and celebrates by exchanging gifts—a question he once heard asked, "How can the whole world see two bodies lying in Jerusalem?" That is no longer a question.
