What did Jesus say would happen if the disciples kept quiet at his triumphal entry?

Jesus declared that if His disciples held their peace and stopped shouting at the triumphal entry, the stones themselves would cry out in testimony to Him. The Pharisees had asked Him to rebuke the crowd, but He refused, affirming that creation itself would acknowledge its Creator if human voices were silenced.

Les explains that this scene occurs at the triumphal entry, where the crowds shouted Hosanna and laid palm fronds in His way. The religious leaders of Israel were shaken and told Jesus, "Master, rebuke thy disciples." Jesus answered in Luke 19:40, "I tell you that if these should hold their peace, the stones would cry out." Les emphasizes that Jesus is the Creator and knows what creation is capable of doing. He connects this to Psalms 148, where all creation is aware of God's coming, and says that when creation sees the rapture of believers, it knows the curse will soon be lifted and it will enter Christ's glorious dominion, with believers as joint heirs.
