What did Jesus say would happen if His disciples stopped praising Him at the triumphal entry?

At the triumphal entry, when the Pharisees asked Him to rebuke His disciples, Jesus answered that if these should hold their peace, the stones would cry out. He, as Creator, knew creation was aware of His coming and capable of crying out in praise.

Les explains that this happened at the triumphal entry, where the crowds were shouting Hosanna and laying palm fronds in His way, and the religious leaders of Israel got shook up. The Pharisees from among the multitudes said, “Master, rebuke thy disciples,” meaning, “Don’t let them call out like this.” Jesus answered in Luke 19:40 that if these should hold their peace, the stones would cry out. Les emphasizes that Jesus said it, and He’s the Creator, so He knows what the stones are capable of doing. This shows all creation is aware of His coming, and Les connects it to Psalm 148 and the rapture of the believers.
