What aspects of Christ should we be concerned with?
We should be concerned with the Christ of the work of the cross, the Christ in resurrection power, and the Christ now seated in the heavenlies at the right hand of the Father. Our salvation is not based on His earthly ministry to Israel, but on these things.
Les explains that there is nothing wrong with studying Christ's earthly ministry, but it is not the basis of salvation today; that ministry was to the nation of Israel. The name Jesus was His name of humiliation as He went to the cross as the sin bearer. Once He rises from the dead in power and glory, it is no longer appropriate to refer to Him as Jesus; He is now the Lord Jesus, the Jesus Christ, the Lord Jesus Christ. Les also notes that if we are in Christ, we are sealed by the Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is in us: we are in Him, and He is in us.
