Les Feldick Bible Study

According to Jesus, whom should we be concerned about instead of people who can hurt the body?

Jesus taught that rather than worrying about those who can hurt the body, we should be concerned about the One who can hurt the soul. That concern belongs to the realm of the Spirit, where eternal matters truly count, and believers can rest in the assurance that God is for us.

Les explains that even when persecutors may touch the flesh, imprison believers, or bring famine, those threats are not the ultimate concern. The thing that really counts is the eternal and the realm of the Spirit. Jesus said not to worry about those who can hurt the body, but to be concerned about the One who can hurt the soul. The verses then describe torture, mockings, scourgings, bonds, and imprisonment, yet God remains for us. As the end time approaches, such pressures may come faster and faster.
