Which Christ are we concerned with now?
We are concerned with the Christ of the work of the cross, the Christ in resurrection power, and the Christ now seated in the heavenlies at the right hand of the Father. He is no longer merely Jesus of His humiliation but the Lord Jesus Christ.
Les explains that while studying His earthly ministry is not wrong, it is not the basis of salvation today. That ministry was to the nation of Israel, and the name Jesus was His name of humiliation as He went to the cross as the sin bearer. Once He rises from the dead in power and glory, it is no longer appropriate to refer to Him as Jesus. Now He is the Lord Jesus, the Jesus Christ, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our concern is the Christ of the work of the cross, the Christ in resurrection power, the Christ who is now seated in the heavenlies at the right hand of the Father. If we are in Christ, that is the secret, and He is in us, sealed by the Spirit.
