What did the second Adam accomplish for humanity?

The second Adam accomplished everything necessary to bring fallen humanity back to Himself. By His work, grace and the gift of righteousness are available, so those who receive them by an exercise of will may reign in life through Christ Jesus—not by human effort, but by what He accomplished.

Les explains that Adam was the federal head of the human race and plunged everyone into condemnation. The second man, the second Adam, accomplished everything necessary to bring fallen man back to Himself. The only difference now is that there has to be an exercise of the will. Les points out that by one man’s offense death reigned, but much more those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Christ Jesus. This reign is not because of what we do but because of what He accomplished. Les also illustrates that salvation is not something people have to attain or work for; it is right in front of every human being, like a door on ground level that anyone can walk through.
