Who is the second man, the second Adam, the last Adam?

Scripture identifies the second man, the second Adam, the last Adam as the Lord from heaven. The first Adam was made a living soul and is earthy, while the last Adam was made a quickening or life-giving spirit. He stands as the second federal head, the spiritual one from heaven.

Les explains from I Corinthians 15:45-46 that the first man, Adam, was made a living soul, but the last Adam was made a quickening or life-giving spirit. Verse 46 shows that the natural comes first and the spiritual afterward: the first man is of the earthy, while the second man, the second Adam, the last Adam, is the Lord from heaven. Les presents these as two federal heads. Adam, as head of the natural progeny of the human race, plunged mankind into sin, and sin precipitated death. The second and last Adam is the Lord from heaven, the life-giving spiritual head who restores life to the human race.

1 Corinthians 15:46
