What makes up the personality according to Les?
According to the teaching, the personality, or true person, is made up of the mind, the will, and the emotions. It is the invisible, eternal, spiritual part of humanity, distinct from the temporary body. This inner part reflects God's image, for God is Spirit and is Himself a personality comprised of mind, will, and emotions.
Les teaches that when God created Adam, He made him a trichotomous being—a three-part being, not a trinity—consisting of body, soul, and spirit. The body is the outer tent, the temporary covering tied to the five senses. Inside that temporary tent are the eternal things, and it is there, not in the physical body, that humanity is made in God's image. God never had a body with five senses to pattern us after, but He did have personality. Les explains that the personality, or true person, is comprised of mind, will, and emotions, which he says aligns with Psychology 101. The context notes that over 20 years of teaching, many commented they received more enlightenment from this teaching than almost anything else.
